Galiteuthis phyllura, also known as the cockatoo squid, is a species of glass squid, possibly the largest in the genus. In 1984, the Soviet stern-trawler Novoulyanovsk brought up the remains of a gigantic specimen of G. phyllura from a depth of 1,000–1,300 m (3,300–4,300 ft) in the Sea of Okhotsk.W CalCOFI holds 26 observations of it in 1 dataset between 2008 and 2017, as invert.R
